Weights, Temps & Measures

I have often heard it said that baking is a science and that is true to a degree. However I have always been the type of cook who adds a bit of this and that to see what happens. So many of our recipes allow for a margin of error but when making cakes and cookies, it is best to stick to the rules and be precise.

Listed below are some standard conversions. Because we are from New Zealand, we use metric in all of our recipes but we have added the  imperial equivalent in brackets for those of you using that system.

We use standard Pyrex® cup measurements in all recipes and a 15 ml tablespoon measurement rather than the 20 ml used in Australia. Please note: conversions are approximations only.
